for free at OverviewThe No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) contains the most sweeping changes to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) since it was enacted in 1965. It changes the federal government’s role in primary and secondary education by asking schools to describe their success in terms of what each student accomplishes. The NCLB requires States to place an emphasis on accountability and evidence-based decision making. States and school districts applying for federal grant funding will need to demonstrate that their instruction methodologies, policies, practices, programs and services are founded on scientifically based research. The purpose of this white paper is two fold:
First, to provide actual examples of how educators are using MathRealm
programs to improve student achievement in mathematics, and second, to explain
the research that the MathRealm programs are based upon.
