Please read the following privacy policy to understand what personal information is collected from you while on our site, how this information is used, and how Registered Users can change or delete information relating to them.

Non-Registered Users

We do not require individuals to register or submit personal information to preview MathRealm.com. The preview allows individuals to use some of MathRealm.com’s math lessons and activities for an unlimited time period.

Registered Users

Registered Users fall into six categories: Registered Teachers, Affiliated Registered Students, Unaffiliated Registered Users under age 13, Unaffiliated Registered Users age 13 and up, Parent Registered Users, and Registered Parents as described below.

Registered Teachers
A Registered Teacher is affiliated with a bona fide, lawfully registered primary or secondary educational institution in the United States or abroad. Upon registration, the teacher must provide a first and last name, a job title, the name of the school they are affiliated with, the street address and telephone number of the school, and the e-mail address of the teacher or school. The teacher must also create a unique user login and a password. The teacher is also asked for the grades taught and the subjects taught.

Affiliated Registered Students
An Affiliated Registered Student is a student who is registered by a Registered Teacher as defined above, and who uses the site under the supervision of and as authorized by the Registered Teacher. The Registered Teacher assigns a user name and a password to each student. Affiliated Registered Students may disclose information by participating in chat forums. Because of the open-ended nature of the chat forums, information of any type can be posted by the Registered Student including personal, sensitive or confidential information. MathRealm.com expects Registered Teachers or the school they are affiliated with to educate Registered Students about appropriate information to provide in the chat forums. If a Registered Teacher chooses to use the grade-book feature of the site, MathRealm.com expects the Registered Teacher to notify parents that grade information on their children will be maintained in the MathRealm.com website database. MathRealm.com expects the Registered Teacher or the school they are affiliated with to notify parents that their children’s progress on the site (e.g., lessons completed, worksheets and tests completed, and other activities completed) will also be maintained in the MathRealm.com website database.

MathRealm.com will not obtain consent from parents before allowing a Registered Teacher to register a student. By registering students on the site, MathRealm.com assumes that the Registered Teacher or the school they are affiliated with have obtained consent from the parents of the students.

Unaffiliated Registered Users under age 13
An Unaffiliated Registered User is a user who is not registered in connection with a school. Our registration process asks these individuals to provide their birth date (month and year). Once MathRealm.com determines that a prospective user is under the age of 13, we do not collect individually identifiable information from this person. We require the prospective user to provide a user login, a password and a parent’s e-mail address, and we instruct the prospective user not to use their first name or last name for the user login or password. Unaffiliated Registered Users under age 13 have restricted access to the site which excludes use of the chat forums.

Unaffiliated Registered Users Age 13 and Up

An Unaffiliated Registered User is not registered in connection with a school. Our registration process asks these individuals to provide their birth date (month and year) to determine their level of access to the site. Unaffiliated Registered Users age 13 and up are given full access to the site, which includes the use of chat forums. Unaffiliated Register Users age 13 and up must provide their birth date (month and year), name, address, and e-mail address. We ask for the grade level and the subject areas that the registrant is interested in (these items are optional and not required for registration). We require the prospective user to provide a user login and a password.

Parent Registered Users

A Parent Registered User is a user who is registered by a parent. Parents will be asked the ages of the children they seek to register. Children under the age of 13 will not be given access to the chat forum. Children age 13 and over will be given full access to the site.

Registered Parents

A Registered Parent is a parent who registers to use the site. Parents must register if they want to use the management tracking feature to develop tests and worksheets for their children and track the performance of their children.

Other Information Collected

For everyone who visits the MathRealm.com domain, we log IP addresses, the type of operating system that the visitor's computer uses, and the type of browser software used by the visitor. From the IP address, we can determine the Internet Service Provider and the geographic location of the visitor's point of connectivity.

Use and Disclosure of Information

MathRealm.com uses information collected from Registered Users to allow Registered Users to interact with each other using chat forums and to notify Registered Users as new material becomes available on the site.

MathRealm.com includes a management tracking feature that permits a teacher or parent to develop tests and worksheets online and administer them to students online. For a parent to have access to this feature, the parent must register under the parent button on MathRealm.com. The site automatically grades the tests/worksheets. Teachers and parents can track the performance of their students.

Any information that a Registered User posts to the site through the chat forums may be viewed by persons who are granted access to such areas of the site. Registered Teachers designate who may access information on the individual Registered Students. For example, a Registered Teacher may want to permit the parents of students to access the progress of their own children.

Protection of Information

Information collected from Registered Users is stored on a database and other servers kept in a secure location under the custody and control of MathRealm.com’s third party hosting services. MathRealm.com also uses technologies and processes such as encryption, access control procedures and network firewalls to protect such servers. User accounts and profiles are password protected using industry-standard, commercially reasonable methods. MathRealm.com makes commercially reasonable efforts to protect such information and to limit its use and disclosure of such information as described herein, but cannot guarantee that such efforts will be successful.

Changing or Deleting Information
Registered Teachers may make changes to their information and the information they put in the system concerning their Affiliated Registered Students. Registered Teachers must e-mail Cognitive Technologies Corporation at support@mathrealm.com if they want to remove their information from the site, and Cognitive Technologies Corporation will confirm this decision with a follow-up phone call. Affiliated Registered Students may make changes to their information as authorized by the Registered Teacher. Unaffiliated Registered Users, Parent Registered Users and Registered Parents may delete their information by sending an e-mail request to support@mathrealm.com.
